Architecture

Project Name: Solution Architecture

A major Victorian government department was conducting an extensive Transformation Program to replace many of its core social insurance applications. The program included addressing master data issues related to the complexity of tracking and managing a centralised repository of information on Party (people and organisations) and Location (addresses and geophysical data) sourced from several disparate applications

The Marlo Group was engaged to create the Solution Architecture for the proposed program. The engagement included:

- Recommendation of a roadmap for development of the Information Management strategy

- Development of an Information Architecture Framework and Integration Architecture Framework to support the roadmap and project solution architectures

- Assessment of appropriate Master Data Management solutions and associated integration requirements

- Development of interim strategies and solution architectures to avoid the need for short-term implementation of a full MDM solution

- Definition of a Common Information Model for Party and Location repositories as a logical model and a physical implementation in UML and XML Schemas

This engagement resulted in the development of a solution architecture solving a complex, core problem within the Information Architecture domain.
